Coaches can configure a set of default training zones so that it saves time configuring them for clients.
When you configure training zones you can set your own custom zones and percentage values based on thresholds. Your clients will then inherit those zones and percentage values automatically. Then for each client you or they can simply enter their own threshold values, recalculate and save.
Default Zones are available from the Coaching menu.
Watch the video where Cam talks through setting up the zones or continue reading for the screenshots and instructions.
Configuring Default Zones
There is a tab for each target type eg Pace, Power and Heart Rate.
Under each tab you can configure Workout Type specific zones will which be applied only to workouts of that specific type. There is also "Generic Zones" which will be applied to any workout type that does not have a specific set of zones configured. You should always set up a set of "Generic Zones" so all workout types are covered. Then setup workout specific zones.
To add a new set of zones, use the add buttons and then hit calculate to bring up the system default zoneset.
Now you can make any customizations you want to make. This can include the names of each zone, the % of threshold values for the calculations and you can remove or add zones to have as few or many zones as you like.
Once you've created all your desired sets of zones for Pace, Power and Heart Rate click the Save All button. This will save your default zones. These zones will now be inherited by new clients and any existing clients who do not have their own zones configured already.
Customizing For Client
Now you have your default zones set up it's a simple process to customize for a client. Find the client and go their zones page. This is the target icon in the client selector or the client list.
The screen looks very similar and if a client did not already have their zones set then your set of default zones should be showing.
Now simply adjust the clients threshold values and hit the calculate button to recalculate the zones based on your own defaults and the clients threshold values. Once you've done all the zones make sure you click "Save All".
Missing Zones
You may see some warnings on the clients screen about using system default zones. this is because their might be some specific workout types that are not configured in either your default zones or the clients zones. You can either choose to go back and edit your default zones and add those missing zones, or configure them against each client. The best approach is to configure them in your default zones.
